Prestantia Music

Recording notes on guitar, piano and banjo from a working teacher and producer

Terms of Use

What this site is

Everything on Prestantia Music is my own opinion, written from my experience teaching guitar, piano and banjo and recording those instruments in my own room. It is not a guarantee. If I say a compressor suits a fingerpicked part, that is what I found on my own recordings, not a promise it will work on yours. Your hands, your room and your instrument decide more than any page here can.

What you may do

Quote from these pages freely. Share a paragraph in a forum, quote a sentence in a lesson handout, link to anything I have written. Short quotation with a clear pointer back to the original page is always welcome. For anything longer, ask me first through the contact page on the site.

What you may not do

Do not republish whole articles or substantial parts of them, in any language or format. Do not copy this content wholesale onto another site or into a book, course or newsletter. Do not scrape these pages with automated tools, and do not feed them into training data or content farms. What I write costs me time at the bench and behind the mics, and I would rather you read it where it lives.

Comments

Comments are for questions, corrections and your own results with the gear or the exercise at hand. Disagree with me in detail and I will usually reply. I remove personal attacks, spam, and comments that paste long excerpts from other people’s work. I do not edit comments. What you post stays your responsibility.

Liability

If you follow a setup suggestion here and a truss rod, a plugin session or a student’s practice routine goes wrong, that outcome is yours to manage. I cannot see your instrument, hear your room or watch your hands, so I make no warranty that anything described will perform as written for you. Use your judgment, and when a repair matters, take it to a person who can hold the guitar.
